Dog shaped bread, what more could you possibly ask for?
My sister and BIL took me here early on a Saturday morning and it was already busy and packed! The shop itself is pretty small (could maybe comfortably cram 4-5 people in there), but it was clean and smelled amazing when we got inside. KOKO Bakery focuses more on quality than quantity, so be aware of this when you come in as some of the pastries you’re looking for could be out. I’m assuming they bake throughout the day so I don’t think they’ll be SOLD out, but you may have to wait.
Thankfully there was a spot to park at right outside the store, so we got inside pretty quickly. My sister and BIL are both regulars here (lol) so the cashier waved at them through the window. Once we got inside, we looked at the selection and ordered the following:
- 4x sweet dog rolls
- 1x melon pan/bread
- 1x ham & cheese croissant
- 1x matcha latte with almond milk
- And two other pastries I can’t remember
The pastries were warm and fresh when we got them boxed. The service was pretty quick, but there was a bit of a delay with my matcha latte as I think they had a new employee making it. (Not a bad thing, by the way! We didn’t mind at all, just felt guilty because we were taking up space inside.) Everyone we spoke with was incredibly friendly and upbeat. They answered any questions we had and gave us great service with ginormous smiles on their faces. Their upbeat attitudes were definitely contagious.
My matcha latte was decent, but nothing to really write home about. Not a huge deal, but a bummer as I was hoping to find a favorite spot with good matcha.
The rolls on the other hand?
Stole the show, easily.
Their pastries are amazing and so, so good. The sweet dog rolls (which are ridiculously cute to begin with) were definitely my favorite and the melon pan/bread came in a close second. My BIL loves their savory rolls and was incredibly happy with his ham & cheese croissant. Overall very happy with what we got! I can see why they come back all the time haha. I can’t wait to come back to KOKO Bakery in the future – I need some of that sweet dog roll in my life, every day!
